Who I am
Journalist by training
- Times School of Media, 2019 to 2022.
- I produced and presented news stories and podcasts for TV and web, and wrote for the campus paper.
- In the summer of 2021 I was a financial researcher and reporter at an energy-news site.
- It is still how I work. I read a script the way an editor reads copy.
The money side
- At a finance ed-tech I sold trading education to people who found us through YouTube: more than 200 deals and about 13 percent of a ten-person team’s revenue.
- I was always in the top three sellers, and mostly first.
- I was in front of the camera for more than 25 of its ad campaigns, and I helped write their final scripts.
- At an investing platform I spoke with more than 150 retail investors a day.
- I am certified in equity derivatives and used to trade, so I know what the viewer of a finance video is trying to decide.
My own channel
More than 300 videos, 3,400 public watch hours and an interview podcast. It never reached monetization. Running it is how I learned to read a channel’s analytics.
