Shivam Vashisth
YouTube strategist. Remote from India, working EU hours and US mornings.
I run YouTube strategy and channel operations for a large exam-prep education brand in India, and I build the systems behind that work with Claude Code. I am not a coder. I needed the systems anyway, so I learned to build them.
What I do
- I plan the calendar from research on what competitors are winning with and what people actually search for.
- I direct the packaging. By my count that is thumbnail direction on about 80 percent of long-form videos, and nearly everything we publish passes my QC.
- I brief 13 faculty who teach on camera, with scripts written straight into each person’s live document.
- I run the numbers management reads every week, and I built the pipelines that produce them.
What you can hand me
Before YouTube I worked in sales and client servicing in finance, and before that I trained as a journalist. If you run an agency, this is the part of the job you can give me and stop worrying about.
- I sold before I did strategy. At a finance ed-tech I closed more than 200 deals and brought in about 13 percent of a ten-person team’s revenue, always in the top three and mostly first. I know how to make the case for the work, and I carry a deal to the close myself.
- I have looked after clients with real money at stake, talking more than 150 retail investors a day through their decisions at an investing platform. I stay with a client until they are satisfied, and I answer for every number I report.
- I am a journalist by training and have worked across TV, print and digital, writing scripts behind the camera and fronting more than 25 ad campaigns in front of it. I know the pressure a creator feels on a shoot, and I take charge of getting them what they need.
- Messaging is what I am strongest at. I write every client update myself, with the results stated plainly, and I walk the client through the journey until they are happy to stay.
Proof
Over the same 250 days of the year, the channel’s views were up 19 percent on its best-ever year, with the same editing and design resources as the year before. Views on the videos published in that window rose 2.97x, and their share of all channel views went from 14 percent to 35. Without that new content the channel would have finished about 8 percent down. Videos over 10,000 views went from 22 to 77. In one month I sent 124 script briefs to 13 faculty.
